The end of the year is fast approaching – and we all could use a fresh start. In the interim as we begin a new month, it is an opportunity to reflect, do things differently and improve ourselves.
By now all of us have had to get back to full time work. It certainly has been a struggle for me – I just got settled into a work from home routine and now have to resume fully with my daughter in the back of my mind. All that aside though, November is giving me hope that we are one step closer to the way we were. Based on that, let’s refresh our outlook and the way we do things at work. We continue to deal with these continuous adjustments together. I was inspired by the short video below which gives tips on being a better employee (I loved tips 7, 13 and 15). I would have done a post with a similar sentiment that you can check out here (it was specific to starting a new job but you can apply the same principles), but the video quickly summarizes ways we can be better versions of ourselves at the office.
It is tempting to revert to old habits where we are lazy or procrastinate, but let us not forget that we have been craving normalcy for the last 8 months. Part of normalcy is being able to go to work in the first place and fulfilling our duties at work. Of course we still have a way to go before our old lives return, but let us practise doing things properly in the meantime so that we are our best selves when that time comes.
November will be great!
